Koi Pond

This art quilt is from a photo of my goldfish pond, but I thought koi would be more interesting. Acrylic and watercolor paints were used for dimension, depth, shadows, etc., while permanent fabric markers added detail. Gold tulle was placed above the koi and beneath the lilypads to give the suggestion of the sun shimmering on the surface of the water. This art quilt was juried into the Art=Quilt=Art exhibit at the Schweinfurth Memorial Arts Center in Auburn, NY - November 2007 - January 2008.
