Rusted Leaves
This was made for the Stay At Home challenge for 2008 - a group of people who are unable to attend the IQF in Houston decided to make small quilts to donate to Ami Simms for the Alzheimer Foundation. The background fabric was donated by a member and she will donate $.50 for each one using her fabric. I picked up the leaves on the Blue Ridge Parkway, scanned them into the computer, and printed them on cotton. Using copper metallic thread, I free motion stitched down the leaves, then highlighted some of the rusted areas of fabric.
This will be available for bid in November 2009. For purchase go to http://www.alzquilts.org/
